Vision+ offers various options for managing your home's heating schedule, each with unique features, advantages, and drawbacks. Here's a detailed overview of these options and how they interact with each other.
Default Home Temperature
The default home temperature is a baseline setting applied across the entire home when no specific schedules are created, or during gaps between scheduled time blocks. This setting is ideal for users who prefer a consistent temperature throughout their home at all times. When the default home temperature is adjusted in the settings, the change is reflected universally across Vision+, ensuring uniformity.
- Provides a consistent temperature throughout the home. It's easy to manage and maintain a stable climate without complex programming.
- Since it's always active unless overridden, a manual override (e.g., setting the temperature to 30°C to quickly warm up a room) will remain in effect indefinitely unless manually changed. This could lead to unintended temperature maintenance if not adjusted back.
The default home temperature has the lowest priority and can be overridden by home and room-level modes as well as active programs.
Modes
Home and room-level modes let you quickly set specific heating profiles that override your default and any active program. Once a mode is activated - whether at the home or room level - it remains in effect until you manually switch back to Program or select another mode. This permanent override means a scheduled program will not automatically resume once a mode is active.
Home-Level Modes
- House-Wide Control: Apply settings like Off or Anti Freeze to the entire home simultaneously. This is especially helpful for vacations or extended absences. You can also select Eco and Comfort depending on your needs.
- Manual Reversion: Reverting to normal scheduling requires manually switching each room back to Program mode (or any other mode you wish).
Home-level modes override all other settings, including the default home temperature, any room-level modes, and manual temperature adjustments.
Room-Level Modes
- Target Specific Rooms: Set a room-level mode (e.g., Anti Freeze) for a single room without affecting the rest of the house.
- Permanent Until Changed: Activating a room-level mode takes that room out of Program mode indefinitely. You must manually switch the room back to Program (or another mode) to resume scheduled settings.
Timer Mode
Need a short-term temperature change without leaving Program mode permanently? That’s where Timer Mode comes in.
Instead of adjusting the temperature directly in Program mode (which used to create overrides), you now:
- Open the mode selector and choose Timer Mode.
- A pop-up appears where you:
- Pick a new temperature setpoint.
- Choose how long it should last:
- Presets: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours.
- Custom: Set your own duration (from minutes up to 44 days).
- Confirm your choice. You’ll see a message: “Timer mode activated.”
While Timer Mode is active:
- An hourglass icon replaces the program icon on your dashboard.
- You’ll see the end date and time clearly displayed.
- Tap Edit Timer anytime to adjust the duration or temperature.
When the timer ends, your previous mode automatically resumes. If you switch to another mode before the timer expires, the timer stops and you’ll see a confirmation message.
Why Timer Mode is better:
- No more accidental permanent overrides.
- Clear visibility of temporary changes.
- Perfect sync between Vision+ and your gateway.
This system—default temperature, home and room-level modes, and Timer Mode—gives you flexibility to manage your home’s heating exactly how you want. Each option has its own benefits, so you can mix and match based on your needs.
